Conference Submissions: A Cultural Studies Workshop Facilitated by Valerie Larsen

**Please note that this event is only open to ASAGSG members and Cultural Studies grads. Space is limited to 6 so RSVP soon!**

Valerie Larsen, an ABD student in the Cultural Studies graduate group, will be facilitating a rigorous and informative discussion on demystifying the conference submission process. She will lead the participants through a working session filled with discussion, rich feedback and ideas to get you organized and your project moving. Don't neglect building your CV and academic experience by presenting at a conference! For those of you who have experience submitting, this session will provide an excellent opportunity for feedback on your proposal or the paper you will be presenting.

Workshop will cover the following:
-What to consider when submitting a paper proposal
-Panel versus individual paper
-Funding, travel and other logistics
-Discussion of the abstracts

Participants should email:
-200 word abstract and the title of a paper (even if unwritten) they would like to present at a conference of their choosing
and/or a
-200 word abstract of a panel proposal, including title of the panel and one to two sentence descriptions of each individual paper
-the CFP to which they are responding

Last day to RSVP and submit your abstract is Friday, January 12.
